Adding Advisors

For a staff or faculty member to show up as an academic advisor they must belong to the correct staff group. You can assign the staff group by following the steps below. The table below lists the staff groups that are setup as advisors. The person that submitted the request should let you know what kind of advisor the user should be. The advisor type they request could correspond to the name of the staff group, or be the actual advisor type.

 

 



Assign a Staff Group

  1. In Anthology Student, click on the menu in the top left hand corner
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. In the list on the left side of the screen, select "Staff". It is in the "General" section

  1. A list of staff members will appear
  2. Use the search bar that says “Search Name” to find the staff member you need to whom you need to add the group
  3. In the list, click on that user’s name. It will be in blue text.

  1. The staff member’s configuration screen will appear
  2. Click in the box labeled “Staff Groups”

  1. A search box will pop-up
  2. Search for the appropriate staff group. (You can use the table at above to identify the group for the type of advisor you need)
  3. Check the box next to the staff group you want to add, click select

  1. You should now see the staff group you selected listed in the “Staff Groups” box
  2. Click “Save & Close” near the top of the screen
